Big mammals in "Los Claros".
"Los Claros" is part of the Sierra Morena mountain range and is recognized as one of the most beautiful, richest and best-preserved landscapes in Europe. (Morales Prieto, P.: Las monterías en Sierra Morena a mediados del siglo XIX: narraciones de caza (1904); Chapman, A.: Wild Spain (1893); and Buck, W. J.: Unexplored Spain (1910)). The combination of its climate, vegetation, topography and tranquil location, bordering some of the most exclusive estates in Spain, makes it one of the best and most balanced areas equipped for wildlife. Pure Iberian red deer, Iberian mouflon, roe deer and wild boar are among the large mammals that can be seen regularly roaming the landscape.

Some other mammals in the reserve are: fox, hare, rabbit, genet, Iberian lynx, marten, badger and mongoose.
Birds, amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates.
Remarkable bird species are the black vulture, common vulture, griffon vulture, imperial eagle, golden eagle, Bonelli's eagle, short-toed eagle, owl, lesser kestrel, grey heron, mallard, jay, golden oriole, nightjar, little owl, partridge, wood pigeon, rock pigeon, common dove, magpie, crow, black stork and common stork. Our landscape is also home to many diverse and abundant amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates.
